John Neustadt, ND, is medical director of Montana Integrative Medicine and the co-founder with Steve Pieczenik, MD, PhD of Nutritional Biochemistry, Incorporated (NBI) and NBI Testing and Consulting Corp (NBITC). He is an internationally acclaimed clinician, author and speaker. Dr. Neustadt has written more than 100 articles and is a regular contributor to the medical journal, Integrative Medicine, and the consumer publication, remedies magazine. One of Dr. Neustadt's articles, "Medication-Induced Mitochondrial Damage and Disease" was published in the journal Molecular Nutrition and Food Research. He was honored to have been contacted directly by the editor, a senior FDA researcher, and asked to share his expertise by writing this ground-breaking article.

Dr. Neustadt wrote the books Thriving through Dialysis with Jonathan Wright, MD and A Revolution in Health through Nutritional Biochemistry, A Revolution in Health Part 2: How to Take Charge of Your Health and the textbook, Foundations and Applications of Medical Biochemistry in Clinical Practice with Dr. Pieczenik.

In August 2008, Dr. Neustadt was voted Best Doctor among all physicians in the area in the annual Best of Bozeman survey. This is the first time a naturopathic physician has ever won this category. The editors of The Tributary wrote of this accomplishment, "It is noteworthy that Dr. Neustadt did not win 'best naturopathic doctor;' he won best doctor. Perhaps for his expertise in nutritional biochemistry – his book, A Revolution in Health through Nutritional Biochemistry, written with Steve Pieczenik, MD, Ph.D., was released this spring. Perhaps, it is his intuitive and holistic approach to health care. Perhaps it is for the extra hours he puts in at no charge. But likely it's the combination of all of these characteristics that set him apart. This is a big day for naturopaths everywhere. Congratulations, Dr. Neustadt."

Dr. Neustadt is on the editorial advisory board of the Journal of Prolotherapy and remedies magazine and an editor of the textbook, Laboratory Evaluations for Integrative and Functional Medicine. In September 2006 Dr. Neustadt was invited to speak at the 1st European Conference on Anti-Aging Medicine in Vienna, Austria. Dr. Neustadt earned his naturopathic medical degree from Bastyr University where he was awarded the Founder's Award for academic and clinical excellence.

Clinical Training
After completing 6 ½ years of both academic and clinical training for her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and her Masters of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Bastyr University, Dr. Massey was selected from multiple candidates for the first ever Naturopathic Medical Residency in California. During her residency training, she worked at 4 well-known medical clinics in the Bay Area: Clear Center of Health, Pediatric Alternatives, Naturopathic Family Health Clinic, and The Gottfried Center.

In her residency, she mentored with medical doctors specializing in women’s health and hormone balancing, gynecologists, naturopathic physicians and integrative pediatricians. Upon completing her residency, she continued to practice and mentor with doctors at Clear Center of Health headed up by nationally renowned Dr. Beth McDougall. She continued an additional yearlong mentorship program with Dr. Sara Gottfried, a Harvard trained gynecologist specializing in integrative medicine and hormone balancing.

Volunteer Work
Prior to pursuing her education in naturopathic medicine, Dr. Massey served as a Peace Corps Volunteer working with schools and small-scale agriculture projects in Lesotho, Africa. It was in Lesotho that Dr. Massey discovered her fascination with medicine via her observation of people’s reliance on each other for their healthcare and the local herbalist because access to doctors and hospitals was limited.  She continued to work with underserved populations while at Bastyr University by participating in clinical shifts at homeless women's shelters.

Personal Interests
Dr. Massey is very excited to be a member of the Bozeman community and looks forward to pursuing her other interests in addition to practicing medicine.  She loves road cycling, mountain biking, camping, hiking, downhill skiing and looks forward to enjoying all that Bozeman has to offer.
